Being one’s true self is really a challenge as conformism runs deep and high in our society. The resistance of even the strongest is broken when their non-conformism blocks their daily money-making. When one conforms to something it doesn’t believe in, he or she is going against his true nature and true sense. We can get confused by both reality and imagination when we increase our rate of thinking.

The quote ‘Those that don’t have it, can’t show it. Those who got it, can’t hide it’ by Zora Neale Hurston tells the only truth there is to know about us which is that our abilities and talents are the ones that separate us from our fellow members. In order to be your true self, you need to look at the success of others as a challenge and inspiration instead of whining that you haven’t done this.

#1. Define Yourself

Being yourself is all about doing things which makes you happy and withdrawing yourself from activities you don’t like. People often receive scathing attacks on them from others when they don’t do something that others are doing and sometimes even receive the ones which come when people are just releasing their anger. All of us fill ourselves with anger from time to time, owing to an existential meltdown or pure jealousy out of the competition. One needs to convince oneself that if one undertakes things which make them happy, they won’t be fighting with themselves over doing things which make them unhappy and after one has done their job for the day, he/she can finish it with an expression of contentment. This period can be used to do other things you like either you can relax or chase something else if you are not satisfied with what you have accomplished for a thoroughly satisfying life.

#2. Practice Efficient Self Communication

Self- communication can often break or make a person. You need to tell yourself positive things in order to have a positive mindset because if you don’t you will make yourself vulnerable to criticism and negativity. A person who can uphold positive mindset at all times is sure to have more fun and inspire the same in others.

#3. Embrace The Real World

A lot of people find it very difficult to lose their imaginary view of themselves. When we get bitter or sore about something, we want to get out of this mood fast, and sometimes we imagine things to shield us from the truth. Not confronting our shortcomings and failure and continue to believe what we are not, can fuel our vanity and make us unappealing in the eyes of other people. When we embrace our reality and form the determination to change its aspects that we are not okay with we will triumph at some point and be pleased with our efforts.

#4. Visit A Trained Professional

All of us are suckers when it comes to acceptance and approval and no matter how much we tell others about ourselves we don’t tell them all. This may be because we have already received a plethora of comments and opinions when we shared what was personal to us and don’t need the same bad things from other people. A person in the capacity of a trained professional will still be a person but you will be able to deliver yourself in front of them with brutal honesty as you won’t have inhibitions about being judged.

#5. Revisit Your Childhood

Often in your childhood, you are supposed to do things which stem from the belief of your parents, and they convince you that doing this thing is sure to give you boundless joy for years to come. As parents always wish the good of their children, the chances are that they knew what you would excel at and you may have been one of those first time lucky child. However excelling at one thing and staying with it forever can simply mean never trying out other things in life. Fascination can be endless if you are enamored with all things and when you have given your all to one thing reaching the summit of your potential for that thing, you will for sure get bored or too full of it and here the other things you have tried out will help you.
